Vitaliy Ivanovich Teplov, Angel Stankov Sarov, Elizavetha Evgenievna Tarasova
Резюме: This study describes the transformations of cooperative structures in Bulgaria and Russia, from the time of the establishment of the first cooperatives to present days. The article presents the driving forces of socio-economic and ideological forces that are leading to ongoing changes in agricultural cooperatives. The methodology of the survey includes qualitative and quantitative methods: statistical information, results of in-depth interviews, observations, analysis and synthesis, literature review. Reforming the governance structure in accordance with the values, principles and practical activities of cooperatives has a direct impact on both the number of agricultural cooperatives in Russia and economic efficiency, as well as on the satisfaction of members’ interests. The results presents that, despite repeated attempts, some agricultural cooperatives have not yet found the right path for collective land governance. Controversy continues regarding land tenure, economic transactions, the organisation and remuneration of labor, the distribution of income, which has a negative impact on the satisfaction of cooperative members in Bulgaria. It is increasingly difficult for governing bodies to respect cooperative principles, which threatens the identity of the cooperative. Initial enthusiasm for landowners for collective action, and in particular cooperation, is beginning to fade.
