Regional analysis of specialization of vine growing in Bulgaria

Abstract: In recent years, the EU is increasingly having cluster approach to improve the competitiveness of regions. This requires the promotion of local factors for development of regional industries. In various industry areas, “Wine”
has its own very specific features that planning regions in the country can use to form their own competitive advantages. Different strategies are applied to achieve competitive advantage in a particular activity. One of them is the strategy of specialization, which is achieved through quality production, distinguished by that characteristic of the production of a competitor. The purpose of this research is to be evaluated the specialization and market orientation of vine growing in different regions of Bulgaria. The following indicators are been used for evaluation – gross margin, gross production, commodity production and commodity ratio. The analysis is executed in several steps – branch structure of the sector, gross margin of planning regions in vine growing, evaluation of market orientation of vine growing. The analysis shows influence of climate and soil conditions on land use in vine growing, low commodity rate of branch, disturbance of branch integration.
