The role of women in rural areas of Poland
A. Wrzochalska
Abstract: Women have played a vital role in the Polish agriculture, due to the partial or complete shift of men to non-agricultural jobs, mainly in the field of transport, heavy industry and construction. This situation has forced women to take over many responsibilities previously assigned to men. The traditional and extremely important role of a woman in the family, which entails raising children and sharing values, which help the young generation to shape their views, for the benefit of rural areas and agriculture, and attitudes to the past and traditions, has been supplemented by new elements related to running an agricultural household.
