Comparative Analysis of the Agricultural Farms in Bulgaria and the EC

Abstract: With Bulgaria’s integration to the European Common Market, of a particular importance become the problems concerning the efficiency and competitiveness level of the agricultural farms in our and the other countries-members of the EC. According the theory of branch competition, the differences in the national conditions for development of a determined branch of the individual countries have a strong impact on the competitiveness of the economic units. The carried out investigation shows that the agricultural farms in the country have a lower productivity and efficiency which makes them not competitive at the European Common Market. On the base of the comparative analysis are outlined the key, long-term factors, determining the lower level of competitiveness of the Bulgarian agricultural farms, compared to the European ones:
