Problems and Prospective of the Raspberrys Production in the Mountainous Bulgarian Regions

Abstract: The aim of the article is to find out the problems and draw the prospective for development of the raspberry’s production in the mountain regions of the country. Several objects have been studied in two farms with different status, equity options, production directions (organic and conventional), and different species. The utilized methods are the comparative, estimation constructive method, of the capital budgeting, discounted cash flow, net present value, etc. The main problems, which could result of a great significance for the future raspberry’s production development, are associated with the capital intensity, the labor intensity, the risk type of the investment and its economic efficiency, determined through the index of profitability and the average annual rate of the investment. The worked out varieties are based on a different assessment of the risk and varying development of the main efficiency factors (prices, taxes, disaster damages, current support by the CAP of EC). A gradation of the factors, according the strength of their impact on the index of profitability and the evolving from it priorities of state policy has been achieved. The calculated average annual rates of returns led to conclusions about the investor’s interest in organic and conventional production for the different species of raspberries. The tasks, proceeding from the aim refer to: resource intensity of the organic and conventional way of production for the main species, the risk, the economic efficiency of the production, expressed by the rate of profitability based on the current expenditure, the efficiency of the investment, calculated by the net present value, the index of profitability and the average annual rate of returns of the investment. The methods, used for the tasks’ solution and achievement of the aim are: the structural, the comparative, the estimation constructive, of the capital budgeting through the discounted cash flow, the net present value and the profitability index of the investment.
