Status and strategic guidance for the development of cooperatives within the National Union of Worker Producers Cooperatives (NUWPC)

Abstract: In line with the key strategic priorities of Europe 2020, which aim to achieve smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, the role of cooperatives, including labor working cooperatives is particularly important at this time, when the EU is built as a union of equal social states. Labor working cooperatives, with their immanent characteristics of democracy, voluntariness and mutual assistance are among the forms of organization that create opportunities for the inclusion of different groups of citizens in carrying out of activities of common interest and create an opportunity to increase their income. The purpose of this article is to analyze the activities of cooperatives and on this basis to derive strategic directions and opportunities for their development. In the first part of the article is depicted an analysis of the activity of TPK summarized by the method of SWOT analysis. In the second part of the article based on the analysis are outlined strategic directions and opportunities for their development.
