Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the competitiveness of key agricultural industries in Greece in relation to the rest of the world using the index “Revealed Comparative Advantage” (RCA) for the period 2000-2009. Assessment of the comparative advantages of Greece, based on the so-called index “Balassa”, is used to determine whether a State has “revealed” comparative advantages (RCA). Greece is a Member State of the European Union with an open economy which is influenced by international changes. The analysis of competitiveness of individual sectors shows that country’s economy is still relevant and significant.
